A Seed Among The Stars

The Sack Of Jerusalem By The Romans

Francois Joseph Heim

1824

Heads turn

As they watch

I triumph in their view

In the midst

Of a war-torn field

I’m just ashes and dust

A grain of sand

A seed rising among the stars

I was born a child of Mother Earth

Breathing the air

Walking the land

I’m walking through flames

From the friction of this chaotic age

So, I break away

From the physical domain

As the world keeps turning

I center myself

In the wheels of time

Meditate and levitate the mind

Like water evaporates

I’m lifting pressure

In the heat of this eternal struggle

  As my brother’s keeper

Between two lights

I divide and unite

Spiritually

Like a double-edged sword

So I can maintain

Lord, they’re trying to conquer me

Like the Knights Templar

Holy Crusades

In the City of Jerusalem

With my brother Cain

Guilty of crime

Waiting outside my gate

But I triumph

And gather myself

Like water condensates into clouds

In this constant battle

Till I return like rain showers

Unto the ground
